ABOUT US

The story of our group dates back to the early 1900’s, when Bechara Karam founded in Beirut one of the Middle East's first timber processing and distribution companies. Over the following decades, Karambois grew substantially to spread its operations across the Levant area, building a strong reputation for quality and know-how. It is today one of the MENA region’s leading names in its sector, with worldwide sourcing and logistics and over 40,000 square meters of combined warehousing and processing facilities.

It is one of the few FSC certified timber trading companies in the Middle East.

In the 1990’s, the group’s diversification strategy expanded its activities into the food and beverage sector, by acquiring and developing the Domino's Pizza and Chili’s franchises in Paris, and later in Beirut. In 1996, the group expanded into the hospitality and lodging business as a strategic partnership was established with Sofitel (part of AccorHotels), one of the world’s largest hospitality companies with over 5,000 locations in 110 countries.

Today, our operating companies spanning across three sectors remain under direct control and management, and employ over 300 professionals sharing a vision of integrity and excellence.
